New Sisterhood Forming

New members of all ages are welcome to join this wonderful, warm, fun, activity-filled group.  Dues are $25 for the year and go toward Sisterhood activities.  The next meeting will be Sunday, September 12, at 10:30 am at the home of Estelle Altork in Ocean Hills.  Please contact Estelle at ealtork@cox.net if you plan to attend.  She will give you directions and add your name to the list at the gate.  After that date, meetings will be the first Sunday of the month at 10:30 am.

The Sisterhood is hosting this year's Break-the-Fast and needs volunteers to assist.  Contact Estelle if you are able to help.


High Holiday Tzedakah Project

This year’s High Holiday Tzedakah Project will again be a food drive to help those in our community who can’t afford groceries.  In times of economic uncertainty, the number of people who face the day hungry has risen enormously.  Paper grocery bags for food donations will be available at Rosh Hashannah services.  Please take a bag home and return it on Yom Kippur filled with nutritious, non-perishable grocery items (canned goods and other shelf-stable foods).  Last year we reached our goal of 100 bags.  Let’s see if we can surpass that this year! Donations will go to help supplement the reserves at either the San Diego Food Bank or another local food charity in need.
