Temple Etz Rimon offers intimate, informed worship and holiday celebration services.
SHABBAT SERVICES
At Temple Etz Rimon, we offer weekly Shabbat services, mostly on Friday evenings beginning at 7 pm and at least once a month on Saturday morning at 10 am. Once a month, we offer a Shabbat service geared toward families with school-age children. We are a community that values worship and the meaning that prayer brings to our lives.
Friday evening services celebrate Shabbat, and can include baby namings and other life-cycle observances. An oneg, sponsored by one of our congregants, concludes the evening.
Services are held in the sanctuary of Pilgrm Church located at 2020 Chestnut Avenue, Carlsbad. Directions to Pilgrim Church.
HIGH HOLIDAYS
We offer reservations to the community for a requested minimum donation of $150.
OTHER HOLIDAY CELEBRATIONS
Etz Rimon marks other holidays by special celebrations. For example, for Tashlich, we gather at Carlsbad State Beach for the symbolic casting away of sins. During Sukkot, congregants are invited to build and then share dinner in the Sukkah for our annual “Pizza in the Hut.”
At Hanukkah, each family brings a menorah to the temple and lights candles together, brightening this dark time of year. We celebrate Purim with a party and reading of the Megilah and Passover with a communal Seder. Information regarding holiday celebrations can be found in The Pomegranate, our monthly newsletter.
LIFE CYCLE CELEBRATIONS
Families are encouraged to mark their personal milestones with the congregation, such as baby namings, Bar and Bat Mitzvah, special anniversaries and birthdays and retirement.
